Letter to My Brother-in-Law

Dear Alan,

I see you have hired a lawyer for the appeal, but Mr. X will not save you. Nor will a legion of lawyers save you: this is still a democracy with Laws. We may have been stymied in the lawless Family Court, but we will not be compromised in civil court, criminal court, the court of appeals, or the court of public opinion.

I am writing to you, because you do not seem to realize that you are about to lose everything. The “victory” of this round is not yours but the Family Court’s, since this is not the end but the beginning. Not only is Patricia going to keep you in a number of different courts for the next ten years, but she will show you no mercy — and you will become the reason for Family Court reform in this country.

Once Jane Gallina-Mecca gives her sham verdict, your scheme is going to be revealed to the world, and your true nature will be exposed. Patricia, the children, I, my father, and even Dr. R. will have no choice but to sue you for the torture and trauma you inflicted upon all of us. We are not vindictive like you, but your behavior is leading us down this course, and we are availed with no other option. The eventual outcome of all of this is that you will lose your titles, your license, and you may even go to jail, since you are not going to be operating with impunity when this Family Court case is over.
